Sometimes after a long week of work, the last thing you want to do is get dressed up and go out on the town. So instead, you pop some popcorn, grab a blanket and sit down for a nice romantic movie night. Now the search for the perfect film begins. Get it right and watching a good movie is a well-deserved capstone for a tough week. Get it wrong and you suck the air out of the room. If this is a date, especially in a new relationship, there is a lot of pressure riding on your ability to pick a good movie. Bad movie, bad mojo, bad night.

Fear not, because this a foolproof trick is going to reduce your chances of picking poorly:

Exhibit A: Adult World starring John Cusack and Emma Roberts. I picked this one night with, what I thought, were good parameters. A funny, well-known actor, Cusack, a cute young actress, Roberts and an edgy, sexy vibe that seemed just right. It even had good reviews, which is another red herring.

I won’t write about any other examples but I promise, you didn’t just discover gold when you find some mystery George Clooney and Meryl Streep movie buried in the deep recesses of Netflix. That my friends is a steaming piece of movie poo.
